Police are investigating the robbery of the Liberty Bank, 174 Washington Av. North Haven. Reported by bank personnel just after 11:00 am this morning a male entered the bank and produced a note to a teller. The note indicated he had a bomb and that he wanted the money. A weapon was never displayed or mentioned and there were no injuries to the four bank employees in the bank. The teller complied and the male left on foot with an undetermined amount of money. No observation of a vehicle. The robber is described as a white male, late 30's to his 40's, slender build about 6'2" to 6'4", 160 lbs. He was wearing a light blue baseball cap, dark-rimmed eyeglasses, a white mock turtleneck and an olive-drab windbreaker type jacket.
Attached are bank surveillance photos. The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association (CBRA) is offering a reward, up to $1000, for information leading to the identification of the robber.
